Although he's been rather high profile lately, acting as musical director of TNT's recent tribute to John Lennon, and accompanying U2's performance of 'Walk On' during the historic 'America: A Tribute to Heroes' telethon, Dave Stewart has an inspiring album out that has attracted little fanfare. The Eurythmics principal collaborated with noted new age author Deepak Chopra on 'Grow Younger, Live Longer,' an album of contemporary music by Stewart framing Chopra's mystical narratives.

Created as a companion to Chopra's book 'Grow Younger, Live Longer: 10 Steps to Reverse Aging' (Harmony), co-authored by David Simon, the Windham Hill album was released Sept. 25. The set spans the musical gamut as Stewart, who plays every instrument, offers trip-hop, dub, ambient, ska, and rock pieces to complement the spiritual doctor's wisdom.

'What's so interesting about our project is that the poetry Deepak adapted and recites is a thousand years old, but its wisdom is so powerful, so spot-on for us today,' Stewart said in a statement. 'We had been talking about doing a recording of poetry and music for quite awhile. His voice is texturally so rich to work with. Together we decided on the poems, Deepak recorded his readings and then I cut up the lines and came up with the music that went along with the rhythms of the words. It was good fun.'

On a more traditional plane, Chopra collaborates with Australian artist Adam Plack on the disc 'The Soul of Healing Meditations,' due Nov. 6 via Rasa Music. Intended for those who are curious about meditation, the disc features Chopra's soothing voice leading listeners through eight meditational practices, while Plack's ethereal world-influenced soundscape serve as a relaxing soundtrack.
