Device Manager is showing that a 'Serial ATA Controller' doesn't have a driver installed. And, of course, the auto-updater in Windows can't find a new driver. I downloaded a trial version of AVG Driver Updater and it immediately identified that I needed to update this Serial ATA Controller driver.
$450 and 3 1/2 Days later, between the initial cost of the windows 7 upgrade, System Mechanic wich i got from alienware's website hoping it would fix, then proceeding to buy a subsciption to cure my pc, with MULTIPLE tech driver update ccomplete failures:
I am left with a non operating (PCI standard ISA bridge, 2x Base System Device, Ethernet Controller, and PCI modem all saying i have the latest and greatest drivers however FAIL to operate properlly. Currently i keep getting either a black screen after the windows starting screen wich i can hibernate the computer and then un hiberate it to log on effectivly however its an extreme pain considering i had to use a USB keyboard to remove any password restrictions due to my laptop keyboard and pointer devices not working at all. I originally paid just under 4k for this machine out of my first deployment bonus re-enlistment money, and it is KILLING me to see it going to waist, especially with the money i'm dumping into it lately. Can someone PLEASE help me with drivers that are compatible with my:

Serial Ata Driver Download
- First off, what is a Serial ATA Controller and is it a problem that mine is not working? Second, if it is important, where do I find the correct driver for it? Same problem, Aurora ALX, Win7 64-bit, had to do a fresh install, used the Alienware disc.
