Xbox One Controller Driver Windows 10 64 Bit

Four months after the launch of the console, Microsoft still hasn't released a PC driver for the Xbox One controller. Someone else has finally done it for them. With a few caveats, YouTube user. If want to game wirelessly on Windows 10 using Microsoft's top-notch controller, the Xbox One Wireless Adapter for Windows is pretty much your only choice.

SEE UPDATE! This app allows PC owners access to one important feature: updates for their Xbox One controllers. But, unless you own an Elite controller, the app is useless beyond that. With a PS4 controller, you can customize the controls and sensitivity how you like with the free community driver called DS4WIndows. Yet a giant corporation like Microsoft for some reason hasn't figured out how to compete with its free competition and add this functionality to its natively supported Xbox One controllers as this app restricts all customization to Elite owners only. That is why I'll be uninstalling this app and continuing to rely more on my PlayStation 4 controller. Microsoft is making a very public push into the PC gaming market again, but their efforts, as exemplified by this app, have been tepid. UPDATE: A very pleasant surprise. Years after the app's release, Microsoft has responded to reviewers and now allows you to customize non-elite controllers. Giving my rating a nice bump.

I just got a XBox One controller and Windows didn't detect it when I plugged it in. This issue is present regardless of the controller (my brother got another one) and is only happening on my computer (my brother is doing fine). I'm connecting it via a Micro USB cable (the cable works fine with other devices or connecting the controller to my brother's PC).

The controller vibrates, and the light flashes a few times before shutting down. Device Manager states a 'driver problem' and updating drivers doesn't work.

I read a thread with a similar issue, and it was solved by manually updating drivers, selecting 'Microsoft Xbox One Controller'. That option does not appear on my list (similar options, like 'XBox One Controller' do appear, but don't work; the point is to choose 'Microsoft Xbox One Controller' specifically).

Controller

Of course, Windows support was no use at all, suggesting I used the XBox Accessories application, which I did. The app just launches and tells me to 'Connect an Xbox One controller to start'.

I finally succeeded by downloading the Windows 7/8 drivers. Games and system seem to recognize the controller now. Still, the XBox Accesories application doesn't, displaying the same text. I thought 'ok, let's update drivers now' and -boom- blue screen.

I had to uninstall and reinstall drivers to get it working again.

Drivers For Xbox One Controller Windows

Though games do recognize the controller, I want to have access to all features of a One controller, namely the XBox Accesories app (which I understand will let me remap the controller) and updated and functioning drivers, since it is what I paid for.

Thanks in advance.
